This suggestion was taken up by the university&#8217;s Facility Management (FM) and implemented in the spring of this year.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>During ongoing operations and on Saturdays in the month of April, FM staff had replaced conventional incandescent bulbs with LED fixtures on approximately 500 ceiling lights and approximately 300 table lights on the four floors of the C6 2 building. This reduced the consumption per ceiling lamp from 2 x 26 W to 2 x 9 W and for the table lamps from the original 2 x 20 W to 2 x 1 W. The service life of the newly installed luminaires is also much longer and therefore requires less maintenance than the previous lighting.<br \/>\nWe do not yet have exact figures on the potential savings in electricity consumption.
