Open Knowledge and Open Science – Challenges between Reproducibility, Reuse and AI
The event “Open Knowledge and Open Science – Challenges between Reproducibility, Reuse and AI” planned for 25.10.2023 will not take place.
On October 25, 2023, an information event on “Open Knowledge and Open Science – Challenges between Reproducibility, Reuse and AI” will be held at the Graduate Centre of Saarland University.
Background
On October 22, 2003, the “Berlin Declaration on Open Access to Knowledge in the Sciences and Humanities” was published. Its main goal is to make scientific research accessible to a wide audience, both lay and expert. This anniversary is an opportunity to reflect on the current state of Open Access as well as on other elements of Open Science, such as the reproducibility of research results, the importance of Digital Humanities, the disclosure of publication data, and the availability of Open Educational Resources. Local initiatives within and outside the Saarland research community will be highlighted and the synergies and potentials that can arise from linking artificial intelligence (AI) and Open Science will be discussed.
