Successful fundraising campaign of the NTNM library team
For the third time, the NTNM library team, led by Alexandra Kireenko, has successfully held a fundraiser to benefit a humanitarian relief effort.
This year, on the occasion of the Open Day of Saarland University on May 13, 2023, the library staff had called for a book bazaar in front of the library building under the motto “Reading for a good cause!”. Books from the library collection as well as book donations from private persons were collected in advance, sorted by subject and marked with a donation recommendation.
After the previous donation campaigns in favor of Sea-Watch e.V. 2020 and Ukraine-Hilfe der Universitätsgesellschaft des Saarlandes e.V. 2022, the library staff agreed this year to donate to the alliance Aktion Deutschland Hilft in favor of the earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria.
Under the motto “Reading for a Good Cause!”, €940.00 was collected this year, which has since been transferred to the Aktion Deutschland Hilft donation account.
The staff of the NTNM library would like to thank all donors for their support and trust in the form of book donations, for the numerous monetary donations and last but not least for your interest in and appreciation of the fundraising campaign.
